Time For A New Adventure – Time To Interview My Tarot Deck 24

Hi Musers! Now my site issues have been resolved it’s time to write a new post. If you read my birthday post you’ll know I had a lovely day and received lots of wonderful presents from Mike and Jayne. One of them was a new mass-market tarot deck that I loved – The Adventure Tarot by Elizabeth Su. I saw it on Lisa Papez’s Deck Roundup where she looks at new decks she has received.

I loved it immediately, it’s fun and young and it resonated with me. It’s funny because a) I’m not exactly young at 44 and b) I am absolutely NOT the outdoorsy type at all. Camping, even in a fun camper van does not appeal to me and that it the whole vibe of the deck. I can’t say what drew me to it, but I do love the images and feel I’ll be able to read well with the deck.

With both tarot decks and crystals, one of the best indicators is to feel drawn to it. It doesn’t matter what the crystal is supposed to be used for or if the deck appears to be aimed at someone else, if you feel drawn to it it’s probably for you.

Deck Interview

As I explained in my Ink Tarot post, I do three things when I get a new deck:

  1. I cleanse it, either with a sage bundle or with incense.
  2. I charge my deck under the light of the full moon.
  3. My final step is to interview my tarot deck.

I’ve come up with my own spread that I use unless the guidebook has a specific spread of its own. This one didn’t so this is what I’ll be using.

Time To Interview My Tarot Deck 24

Yes, I admit it. Even though I’ve only been back into tarot for a couple of years and I already have 24 decks. That’s one new deck a month! What’s even worse is that that’s just tarot decks. I also have 23 oracle decks and 2 affirmation decks. I have made a pledge to slow it down for a bit as I can’t work with so many. So, now we know where I’m at it’s time to interview my tarot deck.

How Would You Describe Yourself? – Nine of Cups. You’re a healing deck. You know that healing is a long, difficult process and you’ll support me throughout. Most importantly, though, you’ll tell me when it’s time to take a break from doing the work and just have a little fun! I can get tunnel-vision and borderline obsessed with new activities so having a deck that tells me to step away for a while is a great thing.

How Do You See Me? – Scout of Pentacles. The creator has changed the name of the court cards to make them more in the spirit of adventure. The Scout of Pentacles is the Page in the standard deck. The guidebook identifies the Scout of Pentacles as the witch who has it all together. She’s always there to listen and people will talk to her as she makes them feel so at home. That is a pretty good description of me if I do say so myself.

My problem is that I don’t know how to protect my energy and often use it in the wrong places with the wrong people. I need to be more careful and see if each thing I do is charging me or draining me.

What Types Of Readings Do You Kick Ass At? – Guide of Cups. The guide is the King in the standard deck. This deck will help me see where I need to reinforce my emotional and spiritual boundaries, This deck is the wisest witch in the village, she has it all together and keeps her emotions in perfect balance. She will provide kind guidance and let me know when I need to defend my boundaries or the boundaries of others.

What Types Of Readings Are You Not So Hot? – Scout of Cups. You’re not the super-sweet, sunny, everything’s awesome deck. You will support me but you won’t say everything’s fine when it’s not. I need to grow and so you’re not good at readings where i want a hug and to be coddled.

How Do You See Our Relationship Going? – Guide of Swords. The deck will help me reforge the connection between my mind and body. It’s always been there but I’ve been ignoring it. Working together we will see the big picture together and learn about all the connections I’ve missed.

I Love This Deck

That was such a lovely reading! I think this will be a hug deck but one not afraid to spill the tea when it’s needed. I look forward to future readings and deepening our bond. I hope you enjoyed spending time with me as I interview my tarot deck. Do you have the Adventure Tarot? If so please tell me what your experiences are too. Take care and protect your boundaries xx

Hello my dear Musers. If you’re a regular reader of this blog please accept my heartfelt thanks you have no idea how much it means to me. I write this blog to let people suffering with body image issues, mental health problems and trauma know they’re not alone. Lately, though, my mental and physical health haven’t been great. It’s been hard to keep going. For that reason, I’m cutting back and from now on will only post on Sundays to try and ensure a consistent schedule for you as I know it has been slipping of late. Love CMoo xx
