Exploring My Passions To Reveal My Path – A 2 Card Spread
Hi Musers! I am continuing the exploration I started in my last post to improve my mental health, and more importantly, learn who I truly am. I am continuing to use the 2 cards spreads in my Tarot Diagnosis Spreads book. This spread deals with exploring my passions, the things that I truly love.
Exploring My Passions
Honestly, I’m not sure what my passions really are. There are many things I like and/or feel deeply about but I don’t know if I’d go so far as to call it a passion. So, before I do the spread and see what it has to tell me, I’ll try exploring my passions on my own and then compare with my reading.
Things I Love
- Animals
- Baking
- Cooking
- Tarot
- Nerdy Stuff
- Helping People
Things I’m Passionate About
- Equality for ALL. This covers race, gender, sexuality, religion, age, body type, body shape, weight, etc. EVERYONE should be treated the same and treated fairly. Period.
- Not hurting animals. Animals are the best of us and honestly far too good for us. They deserve this planet far more than we do.
- Proper healthcare for all – physical AND mental!
- Proper benefits to help everyone live a stable life
- Women’s reproductive rights. It is the year 2024 not 1904 and in the great words of Rachel Greene (FRIENDS) – “no uterus, no opinion!”
I am surprised about the things I’m passionate about but one of the things we touched on in therapy is that when I’m talking about my own issues, I often end up talking about the problems affecting society as a whole. I honestly see society, and the world, as a giant, interconnected organism and we thrive, survive or die as a unit.
The Spread
I admit that as I have only been learning tarot properly for the last 12-18 months that I still feel very wary of large spreads. I haven’t attempted the Celtic Cross spread yet, and I’m not sure when I will. I have done a 12 card yearly spread but as each month represented a month it was easier. There was not real need to pull it all together into a cohesive reading. I think ypu’l agree, this looks pretty complex doesn’t it?
Since I started reading, I haven’t felt stunted or confused by not moving up to the bigger spreads. You can get a huge amount of information in three cards and it was a manageable way to begin my tarot journey. That’s why I’m excited about trying all the 2-card spreads in my Tarot Diagnosis book and seeing what wisdom they have to reveal. That brings us neatly onto the exploring my passions spread.
My Cards
So now we have reached the moment of truth. What wisdom will my cards reveal to me? I decided to use the Mythos Tarot for this. It’s a beautiful deck based on Greek gods and heroes and I absolutely love it. My sister, on the other hand says it should be titled “If the Greek gods had social media and filters”. That’s the great thing about tarot though. There’s something for everyone and we don’t all need to agree.
Here are the cards I pulled:
I’m not gonna lie, these cards are bit weird considering the questions I asked. It’s possible that the deck needs cleansing or may not be the right choice for this reading. However, I’m still going to jot down my thoughts for you.
My Passions – The Emperor. I think this refers to my need to protect my loved ones, to be strong. I also have a need to be in control, so managing my household and always having plans in place are extremely important to me. It all feeds into my trauma personality as a doer. I like to know I have planned for as many eventualities as possible. I genuinely love organising and creating budgets and to-do lists. Perhaps it helps give me a focus to distract from my chaotic emotions.
Grant Me – Five of Cups. My life has been hard at times and there has been trauma. My need to protect others and be in charge at home grants me a feeling of safety, of control that was completely missing while growing up. By always being strong, it grants me confidence that I can cope with whatever life chooses to throw at me. I also feel my strength grants me the ability to protect and lead others who might be experiencing a similar journey. Maybe becoming a therapist or a tarot based counsellor is something I need to give more thought to.
Your Passions
As always, if this post has sparked any ideas or comments please feel free to post them. Similarly, if you try this spread yourself please let me know how you get on. Take care of yourselves xx
